Hyderabad, July 24: In yet another case of sexual abuse of a minor girl student, an auto driver who allegedly molested a five-year-old girl was picked up here today, police said.
The girl, a student of UKG at a local school in Falaknuma area here was allegedly molested by her auto-rickshaw driver while she was being dropped back to her house from school, they said.
The girl’s parents had engaged an auto-rickshaw since July 9, but about two days ago the auto-driver Anwar allegedly molested the girl in the auto itself after taking her to an isolated place as she was the last to be dropped from school, a police officer said.
After coming to house, the girl immediately informed her parents about the incident after which the victim’s father lodged a complaint with Falaknuma police who have registered a case of attempt to rape against Anwar and picked him for further interrogation.
“The girl initially refused to go to school in the auto and told her parents that the auto-driver had acted filthily with her and touched her private parts. The parents took her to a hospital after seeing swelling on her private parts and approached us today,” an Investigating officer said.
It may be recalled here that the Hyderabad Police had yesterday arrested a Director-cum-Correspondent of a private international school in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district, following allegations that he raped a teenaged girl student of the school several times after threatening her.
