Lakhimpur, June 13: The second autopsy of the 14-year-old girl in UP, who was found hanging in a police station compound here, has confirmed that she was murdered.
However, the postmortem could not confirm the rape of the girl, as alleged by the family.
The second postmortem was carried out on Monday on the orders of chief minister Mayawati after the family refused to accept the report of the first postmortem carried out by the local doctors.
The first autopsy report had suggested that the victim had committed suicide.
A team of doctors from Lucknow had come to Lakhimpur especially to carry out the second post-mortem.
The victim’s family has alleged that their daughter was raped and then murdered.
