A 10-year-old minor girl was sexually assaulted by her teenaged neighbour in South Delhi’s R K Puram area, police said today.
According to the police, the 16-year-old has been apprehended and sent to juvenile home after being produced
before the Juvenile Justice Board.
The victim and the juvenile offender live in immediate neighbourhood in Janta Flats of R K Puram area. The incident
took place inside the toilet of the victim’s house…When the girl started crying, he fled from the spot,” said a police official.
The girl, who was bleeding, was taken to Safdurjung hospital by her family.
A minor surgery was performed on the victim yesterday to repair the injury and the girl is stable and out of danger but in shock. She was moved to a hospital ward late afternoon today, a doctor treating her said.
A case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 (POCSO) has been registered by the police.
