Jajpur (Odisha): A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a married man at Naguan in the district, police said today.
The accused, Dusmanta Sahu (25), who belongs to Dhanmandal village, was arrested yesterday, police said.
Sahu had gone to his relative’s home at Naguan village where he raped the girl when she had gone out on nature’s call on the Wednesday night, they said.
In the wee hours on Thursday some villagers spotted the girl lying unconscious on a field and informed her family, a police officer said.
She was immediately rushed to the local hospital.
Later on she narrated the incident to her mother and named the accused following which a complaint was filed with the police on Thursday.
Sahu was arrested yesterday and medical examination on both the victim and the accused was conducted, he said.
