Amethi: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered at Gauriganj village here, police said today.
The incident happened yesterday when the girl was alone at home. The victim’s father has lodged a case against one Ramesh Yadav at the Gauriganj police station, SHO RP Sahi said.
“It seems the girl was strangulated to death. The body has been sent for postmortem,” he said.
An investigation is on, he added.
