Kota : A minor girl was allegedly raped by an unidentified person in a ground near Ahinsa circle here, police said today.
The girl, aged about 14, had last night escaped from a children’s shelter home here and was caught by the accused who raped her early today, Circle In-charge of Mahaveernagar police station, Pramod Sharma said.
Some passersby saw the girl and informed police and Child Welfare committee, who rescued her, he said.
On the basis of her complaint, an FIR was registered on the charge of rape against unidentified person, the officer said, adding her medical examination was conducted today.
Counseling sessions with the victim was carried out today by the members of CWC but the girl is not is in the state of shock, Chairman of Child Welfare Committee, Kota, Harish Gurubakhshani said.
The victim was earlier, on the order of CWC, sent to the children shelter home, he said.
