A six-year-old girl was critically injured after she was allegedly attacked by her father with a sharp-edged weapon in Anantnag district of south Kashmir, police said today.
Mohammad Qasim Tas allegedly tried to kill his daughter by slitting her throat with a knife at their Ahlan-Gadole residence yesterday, 80 km from here, a police spokesman said.
The girl was rushed to a hospital in Kokernag and her condition was stated to be “critical”, he said.
It was not immediately known why Tas tried to kill his minor daughter, they said adding, a case has been registered and further investigations are on, the spokesman said.
