Saharanpur: An 11-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped and strangulated to death by three youths in Qutubshetra police station area here, police said today.
According to Superintendent of Police R P S Yadav, the girl had gone missing since January 5. Her body was recovered on January 7 after police intensified its serach operation in the area.
All the three accused in the case were arrested today, he said.
The minor alongwith her mother had visited her uncle on January 5. Her mother sent the girl to the neighbour’s house for some work following which she went missing, he said.
Her mother had reported a missing complaint after which the girl’s body was found on Gangoh Road under Qutubshetra police station during intense police search for three days, Yadav said.
The post-mortem report stated that the girl was gangraped first and later strangled to death, police said.
A police team with the help of sniffer dogs arrested the three accused, identified as Dharamveer, Inderjeet and Shiv Kumar, Yadav said.
The team will be rewarded with Rs 12,000 from DIG and Rs 5,000 from his side for its efforts, he added, adding the investigation in the case is underway.
