A minor girl was gang raped and murdered by unidentified people in Telangana`s Ranga Reddy district, police said on Friday.
The incident occurred on Thursday night near Vikarabad, about 75 km from here.
According to police, the 15-year-old girl was kidnapped by four people when she was travelling in an auto-rickshaw with her father from Vikarabad to their village Ijrachittampally.
They stopped the three-wheeler, thrashed the girl`s father and abducted her.
The victim`s father lodged a police complaint.
The body of the victim was found near a hamlet on Friday. Police said the girl was murdered after the gang rape.
As the auto-rickshaw was not found on the scene, police suspect the involvement of the driver.
Ranga Reddy district police have formed special teams to track down the culprits.
