Noida, July 13: A minor fire broke out in one of the auditoriums of a PVR mall here on Monday, causing panic among the movie viewers.
Dense smoke oozed from inside an AC duct in auditorium number 7 at PVR Spice causing chaos as the hall was evacuated and the occupants moved to safety.
“I was watching the film when suddenly the front row people stood up and rushed out. We thought the movie was nearing the end. But suddenly we saw smoke,” one of the viewers said.
“Dense smoke filled the hall and made breathing difficult. I rushed out immediately,” he added.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Shailender Lal said that there was no casualty and the smoke settled down in half-an-hour.
Screening of movies at all other halls at the PVR continued unaffected and shops remained open.
