Minor fire at PM’s Office

A minor fire was reported at the Prime Minister’s Office located in South Block in the wee hours of Tuesday.

Top officials of the city administration, Delhi Police and the Fire Brigade Department were rushed to the PMO to take stock of the situation.

“It was a small fire in a room on the ground floor of the PMO. We received the call at about 6:25 am. Six to seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot. It was brought under control within minutes,” AK Sharma, director, Delhi Fire Service, told a news agency.

According to a PMO spokesperson, “There was a short-circuit in a UPS of a computer triggering off a smoke detector. The fire alarm went off and then fire service reached the spot.”
