HRD Minister Smriti Irani’s office was the scene of a minor commotion today when a news photographer was sought to be prevented from clicking a picture of a message outside her chamber asking visitors to deposit their mobile phones there.
According to eyewitnesses, the photographer was confronted by the security staff and even by the Minister at one point of
time. There was commotion for a while when the PIB card of the photographer of a Hindi daily was snatched only to be returned immediately, they said.
A similar messages has also come up outside the chamber of some ministers. In the message, visitors to HRD Minister’s office are asked to submit their mobile phones at a counter placed outside the chamber, which they can collect after the meeting. PTI
