Ministers should be held responsible for GOs: Shankar Rao

Former minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Saturday said that the Ministers play a significant role in the issuing of Government Order (s) and they should be held responsible for them.

Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party Office, he said that the bureaucrats would not be held responsible for issue of GOs. Responding to the Supreme Court serving notices to six Ministers over the issue of controversial GOs, he said that the role of bureaucrats would be minor in issue of GOs.

Dr Rao said that officers would follow the directions of Ministers and act as per rules and regulations. He said that the law would take its own course in the issue of GOs and take action against corrupt ministers.

Responding to the demand of opposition parties for dismissal of ministers from the Cabinet, he said that Congress high command and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would take a decision on them at an appropriate time.

He reiterated that he would intensify his campaign against corruption from April. (INN)
