Ministers review arrangements for Medaram Jatara

Warangal, January 18: “Government has made all the arrangements for the convenience of devotees for the coming Medaram Jatara,’’ said Ministers Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Ramreddy Venkat Reddy.

The ministers today visited Medaram and inspected various facilities, including bathing ghats on Jampannavagu, internal roads, queue lines and drinking water facilities.

Later they reviewed the arrangements with the officials at the Government guest house here.

“Chief Minister K Rosaiah conducted special meetings and sanctioned required funds for the conduct of the Jatara. We are spending Rs 22 crore for the Jatara this year,’’ the Ministers informed.
According to them, after Kumbhamela, Medaram jatara attracts largest number of devotees in the country.

About 80 lakh devotees are expected to visit the Jatara.
About 40,000 devotees can have a bath at a time at the bathing ghats being constructed on Jampannavagu and at Chilakalagutta. The Ministers expressed their satisfaction over the arrangements.

“To ensure sanitation, temporary toilets and continuous power supply has been ensured by setting up 32/11 kv sub station,’’ the ministers explained.
A 40-bed hospital is also being set up at Medaram. About 68 doctors and 303 para medical staff will be made available during the jatara apart from mobile medical teams.

Meanwhile, some pro-Telangana agitators tried to obstruct the convoy of the ministers forcing them to raise Jai Telangana slogans.
CM to visit Medaram

Chief Minister K Rosaiah will visit Medaram on January 26 to lay foundation stone for Girijana Museum to be built at the place with the assistance from the Central Government.

MPs Siricilla Rajaiah and Porika Balram Naik, Mulugu MLA Dhanasari Anasurya (Seethakka), Vardhannapet MLA Kondeti Sridhar, Warangal mayor Yerrabelli Swarna, ZP Chairperson Lakawath Dhanwanthi, MLC Pulla Padmavathi, Collector N Sridhar, SP Shah Nawaz Qasim, Joint Collector Sanjeevaiah and ITDA PO Sundar Abnar were among those present.
