Alleging that there was no democracy in the State, Telangana Congress MPs have strongly felt that it would be impossible to make the AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister after 2014 elections if the situation in the Telangana region remained unchanged.
Speaking to the media after the meeting at the former CWC member Dr K Keshava Rao’s residence here on Monday, they felt that the Telangana Political JAC’s demand that the ministers should resign from their posts and join Telangana movement, was correct. They also felt that the ministers have responsibility in bringing about division of the State.
Nagarkurnool MP Dr Manda Jagannadham said that the State government deliberately created hurdles to the Telangana protagonists though it granted permission for the March. There was no democracy in the Telangana region, he added.
Later, the Telangana MPs went to Deputy Chief Minister Damodara C Rajanarasimha’s residence at Ministers’ Quarters and discussed the Telangana issue with Rajanarasimha, K Jana Reddy, Basavaraju Saraiah and G Prasada Kumar.
After the meeting, they told the media that the Telangana ministers, MPs and MLAs together would address a letter to the high command. They said that the party would face severe troubles if the situation in the Telangana area remains unchanged. They opined that the Congress government was losing respect among the people. They also condemned the behavior of Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajgopal and Eluru MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao. (NSS)
