Ministers, MLAs to supervise TRS campaign in GHMC polls

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has deputed one minister as incharge for 10 wards to supervise TRS campaign in the forthcoming GHMC elections.

While each minister will look after 10 divisions, each MLA or MLC of TRS would be made incharge for 5 divisions, sources said. While the TRS is likely to have a friendly fight with MIM in the Old City areas, KCR has directed the ministers and legislators to focus on new city and peripheral areas.

According to sources, Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali will be incharge for GHMC wards in Charminar, Yakutpura and Bahadurpura assembly constituencies. Similarly, Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy will be incharge for Rajender Nagar and Serilingampally; Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav for Secunderabad Cantonment and Sanathnagar; Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy for Musheerabad and Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao will be incharge for wards in Jubilee Hills, Khairtabad and Kukatpally constituencies.

These responsibilities will be assigned to the ministers and legislators on TRS party meeting to be held on January 3 at Telangana Bhavan. KCR himself will supervise the election campaign while he will be assisted by Panchayat Raj Minister K. Tarakarama Rao and TRS Secretary General K. Keshava Rao, sources said. (INN)
