Ministers discuss handloom issues

Hyderabad: Textiles Minister KT Rama Rao, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy on July 11 said that arrangements will be made for stocking up Gollabhama Sarees of Siddipet in all Golconda showrooms besides giving wide publicity. They held a review meeting on the issues of handloom workers in Medak, Sanga Reddy and Siddipet districts. They also inspected Bathukamma sarees to be distributed by Textiles wing. The government has been implementing several schemes for the welfare of the handloom workers and weavers. The schemes are benefiting them include Netannaku Cheyuta, Cheneta Mitra and modernisation of looms they said.

The ministers asked the officials to take the schemes to the handloom workers and help them benefit. The textile wing will give funds for construction of society buildings in Dubbaka, Cheryala and Siddipet. (NSS)
