Gonda, UP: In a tragic incident, an eight-year old boy died on the spot after a UP minster’s cavalcade allegedly mowed down the child in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district.
The car belonged to Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar.

The incident took place on Saturday along the Colonelganj-Paraspur route. The boy identified as Shiva Goswami was playing along the footpath late in the evening, when the minister’s convoy drove over him.
The minister’s convoy, reportedly, didn’t stop to help the child and fled the spot immediately after the accident.
Angry villagers laid the body of the child on the road in protest.
“A vehicle from Om Prakash Rajbhar’s convoy hit him and he died on the spot. We have registered an FIR,” Vishwanath, the father of the victim, said.
A case under sections 279 and 304A has been registered and the child’s body has been sent for autospy.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath ordered a compensation of Rs 5 lakh the family of the deceased and sought a report from the state’s police chief, ANI reported.
