The Ministers’ Committee headed by Minister for Roads and Buildings Dharmana Prasad Rao would submit its interim report on July 16 over the performance of the Congress in the recent by-elections and various aspects of strengthening the party and the government.
The committee which met at the residence of Revenue Minister Dr N Raghuveera Reddy has decided to meet on July 4, 9th and 16th to discuss additions and deletions over the government welfare schemes and programmes apart from taking them to the doorsteps of people. The committee would also study reasons as to why the people were deserting the party and recommend steps on how to retain them.
The committee would also submit its report on crucial factors that led to the party’s defeat in the recent by-elections in the hands of YSR Congress party. Apart from this, the committee would also focus its attention on gearing up the party for 2014 general elections. The committee meeting was attended by seven ministers. (INN)
