Ministers attendance: AICC seeks report from Andhra unit

Hyderabad, September 16:The Congress high command has sought a report from the party leadership in Andhra Pradesh over whether or not ministers were attending to their official duties sincerely.

Sources in the Congress here said the directive from AICC came in the wake of reports that majority of the ministers were not visiting the state Secretariat and discharging their duties ever since they were sworn in again
after K Rosaiah took over as chief minister.

Sensing the danger signals that emanated from New Delhi, Rajya Sabha MP K V P Ramachandra Rao, whom the ministers have been regularly meeting by skipping their official work, reportedly asked them to resume their duties
immediately.

You have already jeopardized Jagan’s chances of becoming the chief minister by adopting a belligerent posture.

Don’t precipitate the issue further by evading official work,” Rao reportedly told the ministers following which most of them visited the Secretariat today.

Health Minister Danam Nagender, who has been attracting widespread criticism for ignoring his official work at a time when swine flu was spreading thick and fast and claiming lives in the state, came to the Secretariat and cleared some files besides holding talks with the department
officials.
