Patna, January 14: Bihar cabinet which met for the first time on a cruise ship over river Ganga here today approved a proposal to constitute a ministerial group led by Deputy Chief Minister S K Modi to keep a watch on prices of essential commodities and act against “hoarders and black marketeers”.
The committee would also comprise of state Agriculture Minister Renua Kumari, Industry Minister Vijendra Yadav, Cooperative Minister Giriraj Singh and Food Minister Narendra Singh, state’s principal secretary (cabinet) Girish Shankar told reporters.
The committee would meet twice a week to keep a watch on prices of essential commodities and act against hoarders and black marketeers, Shankar said.
The meeting decided to free imported sugar from all the taxes, he said.
The Principal Secretary (Cabinet) Shankar would work as coordinating authority.
