Hyderabad, January 29: A Wakf property of 400 sq yards at a prime location at Abids was being leased to a private tenant on a meager amount of Rs. 4000 monthly rent and Rs. 15000 non-refundable deposit. When the matter was brought to the notice of the Minister of Wakfs and Minorities Welfare he instructed the officials to take action.
It is learnt that an applicant had offered a rent of Rs. 15000 per month and a non-refundable deposit of Rs. Two lakh but his application was rejected.
Dr. Mohammed Ali Rafath, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare called for the relevant file and passed the stay order on the transaction and issued a show cause notice to Wakf Board for leasing out this property on the lesser rent.
