Minister launches training camp for new VROs, VRAs

Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy on Monday exhorted the newly selected village revenue officers (VROs) and village revenue assistants (VRAs) to work with dedication for strengthening of village administration system in the State.

Launching training camp for VROs and VRAs at Alimineti Madhava Reddy Academy of Rural Development (AMR-APARD) here, Raghuveera Reddy said that the State government has decided to fill the vacant VRO and VRA posts to improve administration at village level and pave the way for development of rural areas. Describing VROs and VRAs as ears and eyes of the government, the minister said that VRO should function like head of the village and create an impression in the villagers that he could tackle any situation in trouble-some situations. He also asked the VROs and VRAs to rededicate themselves for strengthening the system.

Raghuveera Reddy advised the VROs and VRAs to take villagers into confidence on every issue that could create positive impression in them towards the government. The VROs need to work in coordination with Aganwadi workers, IKP groups, teachers, farmers and electricity employees.

Chief Commissioner of Land Administration Ms Mathew said that the VROs should maintain records of complete information of the villages and furnish them to the State government whenever required. She directed the newly-selected VROs and VRAs to carry out their duties more seriously.

In the recent recruitment, 1,172 VRO posts and 6,028 VRA posts were filled in the Revenue Department. It was decided to give training to the selected VROs at 27 centers in the State for 13 days from today. For VRAs, the training will be for seven days. Training for selected VROs and VRAs in the districts of Nellore, Warangal, Adilabad, Nizamabad and Mahbubanagar, where the results were released late due to election code, will be conducted from April 16.
