Minister distributes fine rice at Secunderabad

Minister for Commercial Taxes and Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said Telangana Government has introduced many welfare schemes for the cause of poor and deprived classes in the State.
Launching distribution of Re 1 a kg fine rice scheme at Secunderabad here, Talasani said the TRS government is keeping its poll promise to supply 6 kg rice to everyone of a family, irrespective its members. He attributed the distribution of the fine rice among welfare hostels and Anganwadi Centers to the commitment of the Telangana government. This scheme, he said, will help the poor get a square meal a day and make a comfort living as all the eligible will get pensions in three months.

Srinivas Yadav maintained that besides giving fine rice and pensions, the TRS government has decided to give priority to distribute Pattas to all those slum dwellers for a better living. Food security cards will be given to all the eligible as per the norms, he said. Every member of a poor family will get 6 kg rice, he said. Besides, the government launched a pension scheme which is aimed at the welfare of the old aged persons, widows and physically challenged.

The Minister appealed to the people not to be confused as the process of inquiry will soon complete and pensions will be disbursed among all the eligible. Despite the financial burden, the government is implementing the pension scheme, he claimed. “We are giving Rs 1,000 pension to the old aged and widows and Rs 1,500 to physically disabled, he maintained.
