Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy today distributed clothes to the poor Christians in Nalgonda to mark the Christmas festival on December 25. At a program in Nalgonda, the minister, along with local leaders and officials, gave away clothes to the poor Christinas on behalf of the State government.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was Messaiah of the poor. No other political leader thinks about the poor like the Chief Minister, Jagdish Reddy said. The previous governments used the poor as mere a vote-bank and ignored their welfare after elections, he charged.
The Chief Minister introduced several schemes for the welfare of the poor and implementing developmental programs too, he said. The government has decided to offer two-day holiday for Christmas festival. He also said the Chief Minister was kindhearted and giving clothes to the poor Christians as it was done in the case of Muslims on Ramazan festival, he added. (NSS)
