Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy today said soon they will set up a medical college in the backward Mahbubnagar district. Adequate number of medical officials and staff will be recruited through a special drive, he said.
Speaking to mediapersons at Mahbunagar, the minister said the State government was committed to promote medical education in the State and the new college in the backward district will come into being shortly. Charging the Opposition parties with vying for making false allegations on suicides for cheap publicity, the minister criticized the Opposition parties for needlessly criticizing Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s China tour.
Lakshma Reddy expressed disgust over BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy’s provocative comments against the TRS Government with regard to suicides and irrigation projects. “Nagam should think twice before making wild comments”, he suggested. During the Congress and TDP rules, leaders did not bother to address these issues, he charged. Nonetheless, the TRS government has kept its promises, including crop loan waiver scheme, pensions and others, he claimed. (NSS)
