Minister assures all help to rain-affected people of AP

Andhra Pradesh Stamps and Registration minister Thota Narasimhmam today visited rain affected Pedapudi mandal and assured all help to rain-affected people in East Godavari district. People in the low-lying areas has been shifted to relief camps and safer places. Sixty four relief camps have been set up to rehabilitate people affected by rain and those living in low-lying areas, he said. He said the state government will provide compensation to crop lost due to heavy rains and directed collector Neetu Kumari Prasad, as well as agricultural and irrigation officials in this regard. He interacted with people who told him that power was not restored, roads were damaged and drinking water is not available. He directed officials to take all steps to provide facilities to the affected people and also said that “We are preparing a comprehensive plan to solve this problem permanently”. After farmers told him that 3,300 acres of crops were submerged in rain water, he directed officials to prepare a report on the damage caused to crops. PTI
