Refuting the charges leveled by TDP chief N Chandrababau Naidu at Tirupati on Monday against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, School Education Minister Sailajanath has asked the former how he could earn thousands of crores of rupees when he inherited only two acres of land in his village.
Speaking to the media at the CLP office here on Tuesday, along with Government Whip in the Council Rudraraju Padmaraju, Sailajanath said that Naidu was making baseless allegations against the Chief Minister to cover up his own irregularities. He said that Naidu’s charge that the Chief Minister had earned assets through red sanders and coal.
Alleging that Naidu had even cheated Lord Venkateshwara, Sailajanath said that the former was criticizing the Chief Minister only for the sake of votes. He said that Naidu had history of smuggling liquor through his Heritage Dairy vehicles during the NTR regime when prohibition was enforced in the State.
Sailajanath said that Naidu utterly failed to function as an effective Leader of Opposition and deplored Naidu’s “shameless” talk. Alleging that Naidu had destroyed the Chittoor dairy for his Heritage Dairy, Sailajanath advised Naidu to seek votes by explaining your works did earlier.
The minister said that there was no comparison between the Chief Minister and Chandrababu Naidu. While Naidu had killed innocent persons during anti-power tariff hike agitation, Kiran Kumar Reddy increased power tariff without causing any burden to the common man.
Responding to a question, Sailajanath said that he would speak on late YSR only after the CBI submitted its report. Thanking the Chief Minister for increasing power tariff without burdening the common users, Padmaraju said that the State government increased the tariff following telescopic methodology. (NSS)
