Minister Agrees To Give All Help For Cow Protection

The State government has announced that it would extend all possible assistance to voluntary organizations which take responsibility of protection of cows.

After holding a meeting with officials, Peetadhipathis and representatives of voluntary organizations here in the Secretariat on Friday, Endowments Minister C. Ramachandraiah said the government would extend support to ‘go-puja’ (cow worship). He also admitted that problems were rising due to lack of trained staff in protection of cows. He also assured that his department was ready to set up at least two cow-protection centers in every district in the State.

During the meeting, Kamalananda Bharati Swamy advised the government not to allot a special budget for cow-nutrition, but Endowment lands could be allotted for the cause of cow protection. He also said voluntary organizations were ready to protect cows if the government took a decision to allot land for cow protection. (NSS)
