Mining policy for growth: KTR

Mining activity in the state should be growth oriented besides protecting environment Mining Minister KT Rama Rao today said. At a high level review meeting at Secretariat here he directed the officials concerned to adopt better mining policy, implement existing act and take steps for geo-tagging and mapping of mining assets, mines and minerals and places. Geo Tagging and mapping will help protect the natural resources and check the irregularities pertaining to mining activity he said.

KTR also asked to initiate measures to ensure that mining activity in the state should be done for the benefit of people. The natural resources are the asset of people who have to benefit at final stage and improved steps are need of the hour to improving income from mining activity by getting royalty through district mineral foundation he said. Since own house is a dream of everyone the officials supply sand for construction of dwelling and individual toilets at low price to avoid open defecation. He appreciated Harish Rao as mining minister adopted better policy to transport of sand to the people at low price. The mining officials set a target for themselves and make efforts to reach transparently besides protecting environment. (NSS)
