Aurangabad: Syed Mateen who is the All India Majlis E Ittehadul Muslimeen corporator from Maharashtra has been sacked from the party’s primary membership on Monday. His involvement in many controversies fuelled the action by the MIM.
The AIMIM MLA Imtiaz said that since Syed elected as a corporator, had been found to be involved in anti-party activities which resulted in bringing a bad name to the MIM.
The MIM MLA further stated that Syed ignoring party president Asaduddin Owaisi’s directive to campaign for the party in the Telangana and Dhule elections finally nailed him.
In August 2017, during the GB meeting, he had triggered another controversy by opposing the singing of Vande Mataram. The MIM corporators, who have been showing respect by standing for Vande Mataram during the GB, had questioned his timing for the move.
According to the report published in the Times of India, there are several cases registered against him which includes inciting communal hatred amongst members of different communities in the city.
“Mateen, for the past three consecutive years, has been bringing a bad name to the party (MIM). Every time he made us go on the defensive and helped the rivals from diverting key issues plaguing the city,” said Group leader Syed Naser Siddiqui.
