MIM rally in UP: Hits out at Akhilesh over Muzaffarnagar riots

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) which is trying to gain entry into Uttar Pradesh politics on Thursday held rally in the state in Maharajganj and in order to gain support from Muslims said that Muzaffarnagar riots would not have occurred if the party had a considerable presence in the region.

Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, MIM MLA termed UP’s Muslim MLAs as slaves said that if they had a presence in Uttar Pradesh, Muzaffarnagar riots would not have occurred. He even claimed that Babri Masjid would not have been demolished.

Pasha said that Asaduddin is ‘Lion of Islam’ and his brother Akbaruddin has the courage to see the government eye to eye.

Pasha also raised the issue of Urdu language and said that Urdu is dying in the State and No Muslim MLA has raised the issue. He demanded that all offices should have boards in Urdu language.

Former mayor of Hyderabad Majid Hussain said that Muslims were the second-class citizens in UP and all Muslim legislators were slaves of their masters.

MIM office bearers said that the leaders from Hyderabad who had reached UP would submit their reports to party Chief Asaduddin Owaisi. MIM had claimed that they have enrolled one lakh people as its members.
