The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday accused the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen of preventing the development of Muslim community in the Telangana region.
Talking to reporters in the assembly premises, BJP State President G Kishan Reddy alleged that the MIM leader have been lobbying hard in New Delhi against the formation of Telangana State. He said that the Muslim community would grow manifold in both employment and education after the formation of Telangana. However, since development would free the community from the clutches of MIM, its leaders are trying to stall the grant of statehood for the region, he alleged.
The BJP leader also slammed Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu for delaying the letter supporting formation of Telangana State. However, he said no party including TDP and MIM could prevent the formation of Telangana State and it would be a reality soon.
Kishan Reddy also accused Chandrababu Naidu of violating the rules of the Assembly Rules in declaring his assets. He said all the members of the Assembly declare their assets after the Speaker issues a circular. Stating that he has been declaring his assets for the last eight years, he said Naidu has violated the rules by declaring his assets at an inappropriate time.
