The Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen has moved adjournment motions seeking discussion on the Alair encounter in Telangana Legislative Assembly and Council.
As soon as the House met on Tuesday, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi moved the motion in Assembly. However, Speaker S Madhusudan Chary asked him to raise the issue under some other form. Intervening on the issue, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao said that the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) has decided to discuss farmers’ suicides for two days and therefore, discussion could not be allowed on other issues.
Similarly, MIM MLCs Syed Amin Jafri and Altaf Hyder Razvi raised the issue in Legislative Council. They rushed to the podium seeking discussion on the adjournment motion which they moved. However, Council Chairman Swamy Goud said that the issue would be taken up after holding the discussion on farmers. (INN)
