Hyderabad: Malakpet Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen legislator Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala found himself in an uncomfortable position on Wednesday when the mother of a murder victim vented out her anger at him.
To console the family of the deceased, the legislator visited the victim’s house in Bapu Nagar. The mother of the victim, Basha Begum, a septuagenarian, reportedly lashed out at the legislator as she claimed that the gruesome murder of her son was not covered by the regional language TV channel of the Old City, reportedly run by his kin.
The MLA, for his part, assured the woman that an impartial investigation would be conducted into the murder irrespective of party affiliations.
The Amberpet police had arrested Safiullah after he confessed to having murdered his step son-inlaw Mohammed Ismail, a fruit juice vendor, with the help of four accomplices on May 13.
After murdering Ismail in a car, Safiullah reportedly left while the others drove to Annasagar area in Mahbubnagar and burnt the body.
