MIM MLA booked for assaulting woman TRS activist

Hyderabad: Sana Begum, a local TRS leader allegedly assaulted by MIM MLA and his aides near Hakimpet.

According to reports published in Deccan Chronicle, the 40-year-old TRS Tolichowki division women’s wing President claimed that the Karwan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin and his associates allegedly assaulted Mohammed Sharukh, a former MIM worker.

When she tried to protect him, they slapped her due to which she sustained an injury on her lips, Sana said in her complaint with Banjara Hills police.

“The MLA and dozens of his associates came Sharukh’s house and started beating him. They attacked his parents and whoever tried to stop them. When I questioned them, they slapped me,” she said.

They also assaulted her 17-year-old son, Syed Sohail when he asked them not to use vulgar language.

“MLA’s associates assaulted my 17-year-old son, Syed Sohail, when he asked MIM activists not to use abusive language against me at the station,” as told to TOI.

However, the MLA denied the allegations and filed a counter complaint against Mr Sharukh, who recently joined the TRS.

“Sharukh and others attacked my brother while they were playing on the street. They were drunk and the victim is now in hospital,” said Mohiuddin.

K. Srinivas, Inspector, Banjara Hills said, “We are booking cases against both parties. The allegations will be probed.”
