MIM may float candidates to cut Congress votes to benefit TRS

Hyderabad: After the dissolution of TS Assembly, preparations for elections have started. Various political parties began finalizing the names of their candidates. The ruling TRS party has already announced the names of 105 candidates. MIM has also finalized the names of seven candidates for Assembly elections. The two sitting MLAs of MIM have been shifted to other constituencies. After finalizing the names of 7 candidates, for city, MIM is busy finalizing other names.

It may be mentioned that MIM had floated 38 candidates for Assembly elections in UP whereas it nominated 24 candidates in Maharashtra and 6 for Bihar. It is for the first time that MIM has finalized the names of its candidates before the official announcement of dates of elections.

It remains to be seen in the second list of MIM which are the constituencies in which its candidates will be floated.

It is alleged that in Assembly elections of the North India, MIM floated candidates at the behest of a party.

Congress alleged that MIM is dancing to the tunes of BJP. It also expressed the apprehension that MIM will float its candidates to cut the Muslim votes in order to benefit TRS.

There was a time when MIM was an ally of Congress. After breaking its ties with Congress, MIM is getting closer to TRS which is no secret.

It may be noted that there are considerable number of Muslim voters in Nizamabad, Bodhan, Kareemnagar and Warangal. In these areas, Congress has succeeded in attracting Muslim voters to a larger extent.

Political analysts opine that the traditional vote bank of TRS is agitated this time for not providing 12% reservations to Muslims. It is expected that a large number of Muslims would cast their votes in favour of Congress.
