BJP floor leader in GHMC Bangari Prakash said that the Bharatiya Janata Party tried to play the role of a constructive opposition in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation during the last five years.
Speaking to reporters here, Bangari Prakash said that the MIM-Congress combine has failed to address the basic civic issues in the city. The corporation harassed common people by taking up demolition of several houses in the name of unauthorised constructions. Very few meetings of GHMC General Body were convened and issues concerning common man were not debated properly.
Prakash also alleged that the GHMC Standing Committee members focused more on issues involving their interest. He slammed the GHMC for dropping the LED Lights project which was started on pilot basis. The corporation has failed to make Hyderabad ‘plastic free’ city. He said although Property Tax was not hiked, the corporation extorted money from the people through backdoor methods. He praised the scheme of Rs 5 meal for the poor. (INN)
