Mill worker murdered by rowdy’s supporter

A worker of the now defunct Anglo-French Textile mills was killed when an unidentified man hurled country made bombs at him at Mudaliarpet last night. The culprit escaped on a motorcycle after committing the crime. It was suspected that Mani, a supporter of a notorious rowdy, Karuna, had committed the crime. According to police Sivaraman(52) was undertaking some construction work in his house and Mani had quarrled with him saying the noise was causing disturbance. Last night, when Sivaraman came out of his house with his pet dog,the culprit hurled country made bombs at him and escaped.

A seriously injured Sivaraman was rushed to governemnt general hospital where he breathed his last at 0100 hours. Mudaliarpet police registered a case and started investigation. Deputy Inspector General of Police P Ahamed, Superintendent S Ramaraju and Bhairavasamy visited the spot and searched Mani’s house. However, Mani had already vacated the house. UNI
