A mill worker was arrested today for allegedly sexually abusing a 17-year-old co-worker at Thondamuthur on the outskirts of the city. Police said the couple were in love and planned to elope. A couple of days back he took her to various places and later allegedly raped her. Police launched an investigation after her parents complained she had not returned from work. The couple were traced to a bus stand here, they said, adding the 22-year-old man was arrested and remanded to custody and the girl sent back to her parents since she was a minor. The medical tests on the girl would be performed tomorrow, they said. PTI
