Milk adulteration racket busted in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A milk adulteration racket was busted by Special Operations Team (SOT) detectives of Cyberabad on Monday and one person was arrested.

On a tip off, a dairy farm located at plot number 81 in Sai Nagar Colony, Machabollarum was raided by SOT detectives led by inspector Shankar Yadav.

SOT detectives arrested P Sainath Yadav, 24, the owner of the dairy farm and seized 450 litres of adulterated milk as well as 35kg of milk powder.

As reported by the Times of India, during the interrogation, Sainath confessed that he had been mixing milk powder (the quality of which is unknown) in water and adding this to the unadulterated milk to increase the quantity.

Sainath used to supply milk to sweet shop owners and tea stalls. He was handed over to Alwal police for further investigations.
