Kabul, December 14: At least eight Afghan policemen have been killed after gunmen attacked a police post in the northern province of Baghlan, according to authorities.
“Eight police were killed in an attack on their post. Their post was in Baghlan Markazi district,” Baghlan provincial governor Mohammad Akbar Barakzai said on Monday.
The policemen from the Afghan National Police died after militants attacked them before dawn, Barakzai added.
The post had been set up in Baghlan to protect NATO convoys.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
