Peshawar, January 24: Intelligence officials and residents say militants killed six Pakistani men in the country’s lawless northwestern tribal region for allegedly spying for the US.
The officials say the bodies of five men who had been fatally shot were found on Sunday on the outskirts of Miran Shah, the main town in North Waziristan.
A resident, Razaullah Wazir, says authorities found the body of a sixth man who had been beheaded near Mir Ali, another town in North Waziristan.
The officials and Wazir say the bodies were accompanied by notes saying the men were killed for working as US spies.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to talk to the media.
