Militants kill 20 in NW Pakistan

Islamabad, June 09: Taliban-linked militants have attacked a security checkpoint in northwestern Pakistan, killing at least twenty people including eight soldiers, local security officials say.

According to the sources, the militant attack took place in the lawless tribal belt before dawn on Thursday, AFP reports.

Recently, there has been a surge in bomb and militant attacks across Pakistan. Pakistani officials blame the bombings on Taliban militants.
