Militants destroy 3 schools in Pakistan

Islamabad, March 05: As unrest continues to grip Pakistan, militants have destroyed three state-run schools in separate incidents in northwest of the country.

Militants detonated a high school building in Shalobar area of Bara Tehsil in Khyber Agency on Saturday morning, a Press TV correspondent reported.

As a result of the blast, the building was completely destroyed, the report added.

In another incident, militants attacked another school building with explosives in the Kohat region of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The building was destroyed, but no human loss was reported.

Militants have also targeted a government primary school in Shawa Kolo area of Swabi town in the region, completely destroying the school.

Militants have destroyed hundreds of schools across Khyber and the tribal areas of Pakistan near the Afghan border in last three years.

This comes as a powerful bomb blast ripped through a mosque in northwestern Pakistan on Friday, killing at least ten people and injuring several others.

The blast occurred after Friday prayers in the Jammia mosque in the town of Nowshera in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The incident took place when people were distributing food following the prayers.
