Srinagar: Militants attacked a police party in Nowgam area of Srinagar today morning leaving two cops dead and another one critically injured.
A police official while confirming the attack said militants fired upon the police party present at Nowgam with three policeman critically injured. All three were shifted to Sri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital. However, two of the injured succumbed on the way while another was treated a hospital.
His condition is said to be critical.
While talking to the reporters at the site of the incident, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that the attack was carried out by the Jaish-e- Mohammad (JeM) militant outfit. The militants involved in the attack are being identified and they will be neutralized soon.
