Hyderabad, March 24: Mild tension prevailed in the Madannapet locality tonight after two groups clashed over erection of flags on the eve of a religious function to be celebrated tomorrow.
Tension mounted after people belonging to a particular community were erecting flags at Bharat Nagar locality in Madannapet which was objected to by another community.
Both the groups had an heated argument over the issue and soon started pelting stones at each other. Police rushed to the spot and had to resort to a mild lathicharge to disperse the warring groups. Additional forces were rushed to the locality to prevent any untoward incident.
