Migrant remanded for stalking minor girl in Saidabad

One Md Azhar Hussain, 29, who had migrated to Hyderabad from Odisha for livelihood, was arrested by the SHE Team and remanded to judicial custody for stalking and harassing a minor Intermediate college student since the last two months.

Police said the accused was working as a Roti maker in a private Hotel and residing at Reddy Colony Swimming pool in Saidabad. The accused was stalking the victim, who was studying in a nearby college. He used to come to her college daily at 5.30 pm and followed her up to her residence in a seven seater auto. He also tried to start conversation with the girl and was throwing papers at her by writing his phone number and asking her to call him.

The victim was frightened and stopped going to the college. When her mother enquired about her reluctance to go to college, the girl blurted out the truth. Then her mother informed her relatives and sought help. The victim’s cousins accompanied her to the college for a few days. Noticing that the victim was coming back to college, the accused again started harassing her. Her cousins caught him and gave a sound thrashing and warned him not to repeat his mischief. When the accused started following the girl after two days, her mother lodged a complaint with the SHE teams.

The accused was traced and caught by the ‘SHE’ Team headed by SI Mahesh Goud under the supervision of the ACP D Kavitha and handed over the accused to the Saidabad PS. A case under Sections 354-D IPC (Stalking) was registered in Saidabad P.S. (NSS)
