This role concentrates on the design of infrastructures including servers, storage, workstations, middleware, non-application software, networks, and the physical facilities that support the applications and business processes required by the client.
1. At least 2 years experience in end-end Citrix architecture development, using renowned architectural methods. Preferably IBM Team Solution Design (Team SD).
2. At least 4 years experience in various Middleware technologies like Citrix, Rightfax, Web technologies IIS, Apache, Tomcat
3. At least 4 years’ experience in hands-on – with some technology area at some level. Preferably HP or EMC SAN
4. At least 2 years experience in consulting engagements, leading / hand holding customers.
5. At least 1 year experience in pre-sales activities, revenue focus, finance aware.
6. Very good understanding of basics – in Infrastructure Architecture:
Technical Skills:
a) Middleware Citrix, RightFax, Web IIS, Apache, Tomcat
b) Servers – IBM xSeries, Flex/PureFlex Hardware, UNIX variants, Linux distros, Windows 2008/2012, HA clusters
c) Networks LAN/WAN, Basics of Switching, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, Load balancers
d) Facilities: Rack/Stack/Cabling, HVAC concepts
e) Capacity Planning / Sizing – any layer of the stack
Non Technical:
a) Be the technology thought leader for the account.
b) Lead and participate in architectural discussions and provide ad-hoc/prepared/well-planned advisory for various technology questions and opportunities that the client has.
c) Participate in solutioning – and provide technical guidance to Solution Architects and Managers.
d) Provide technical roadmap for various technologies used by the client.
e) Provide a formal framework of architectural decision making and establish formal architectural thinking process with the client.
f) Provide comprehensive architecture direction, diagrams, documents and other solution artifacts to facilitate smooth execution of projects.
g) Produce consistent and implementable architectures.
h) Be the over-all SME, bridging the technical understanding across various layers of the stack – during any project execution.
i) Provide capacity planning / sizing in line established architectures.
Other Skill added advantage:
Good in Client Briefing & Requirement Validation, must be self-driven and possess excellent time management skills because this role is expected to handle multiple account responsibilities
Proven problem-solving, negotiation, and leadership skills.
