Bangalore, August 29: The new planning commission is preparing to submit the report on the mid-term appraisal of the 11th Plan by end of the year, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, said today.
The appraisal, which would also act as inputs for the next budget, would be an opportunity to reflect on the success of the 11th plan and corrective steps needed to be taken in the changed global circumstances,he said.
Asked whether it would be a course correction, he said it was always open to an idea of course correction if needed in the changed circumstances.
He said a meeting of the new planning commission would be held on September one where the Prime Minister and ministerial colleagues would be apprised of a tentative assessment of the economy and the implemenatation of the integrated energy policy.
The policy had been approved by the UPA government during its first term.
The Deputy Chairman was delivering the address on the state of the Economy at a function organised by the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
